Unsigned Jacob Lauck, Winchester, VA ca 1830

Another Jacob Lauck rifle in near perfect condition with silver double acorn escutcheons, deeply molded incised carving, typical silver oval cheek piece inlay and vent pick holder, full sideplate, and silver thumbplate. The 40 inch .40 cal rifled barrel has a smooth dark brown surface and is the original length. Forestock molding is interrupted for each double acorn escutcheon. Beautiful curly maple stock with its original finish no cracks, major damage, and no repairs. No repairs, no restoration, all mounts are original.

Few southern rifles exist in this remarkable condition.
